Below are some of the testimonials that have been posted in opposition to the libelous and false acussations made by another Bengal breeder in our area on the internet. These are our real buyers and visitors to our cattery posting to try to repair the damage intended by this person. On the advice of our attorney, all refernces to this person and his cattery have been omitted.
We greatly appreciate all the support and kind words.
In November 2013, I purchased Maya from Acappela Bengals after doing substantial homework on the breed. I met Larry, who showed me around the facility and answered my many questions about health, care, behavior, etc. and let me observe and handle Maya. At the time of purchase, Maya was 4 months old and already a beautiful brown rosetted female.
I have now owned Maya nine months and she recently celebrated her first birthday. I could not be happier with her. Maya is loving, playful and beautiful in her mannerisms. She loves to walk around the house talking and perches in various high spots surveying the kingdom. I must also point out that with age, she has matured into an even more striking example of the breed. Maya has never torn up anything in my home, though she is not declawed. I followed the advice of Larry and other breeders and have provided sufficient toys and trees for entertainment/recreation.
Maya has been a loving companion to my snow Bengal that I bought one month after her. Though she is the female, I dare say she is the alpha cat of my household. More than anything, she’s like a mother to my little male. They play together, sleep together and eat together. They are attached at the hip.
Maya sleeps on the bed with me and most mornings greets me when I wake up…that is unless she’s already moved to my bedroom window seal to bird and people watch. This is a recent photo of Maya and I. It was taken the week of her first birthday.

Hello Larry and Jonni,
We took Eaddie to the vet today for the booster shot, he sure got a lot of attention from Drs. and nurses. And of course he has a clean bill of health from the vet. Larry was right about Eaddie will pick where he wants to sleep. And at this moment he's napping on my lap but as soon as my son gets home I'll be his second choice. LOL. He's good with his potty too. He's also a fast learner and will let you know if he's disagree....YYYYAAAAOOOOOHHHH. :)
We just want to say thank you very much for letting us to have this sweet boy. He's such a wonderful addition to our family. Thank you.
To all the bengal lovers or potential bengal owners. If you are reading this, stop searching. All you need to do is talk to Larry and Jonni. They will help you to find a perfect bengal and save you lots of time, money, headache and heartache. They helped me. :)
(Thanks so much for the wonderful words, Andrea :)
Good morning Jonni and Larry,
Today Huevo Watson is turning 5!
He is the most fun loving destructive cuddly kitty
ever, and we love everything there is about him.
Everyday we can't wait to get home and chase him up and down the stairs and then sharing dinner
with him and cuddle for the night.
It was almost 5 years ago we met little Huevo at
your house. And we were in love at first sight.
Hope you all are doing well and the kitties are enjoying their lives and your love just like Huevo did.
Below is a photo collage of Huevo in recent days.
Take care, Ling and Rick Watson

Liberty (the blue from you) did well in her one round of judging from what the judge said. Beautiful color, spots, etc. Playful and good temperment with the judge too! I walked around with her and got all kinds of compliments from everyone there - one couple even wanted a picture of her. Felt good. Now she was the only blue kitten there so she really didn't have competition :)
Thank you for the last minute scurry to help make it happen. And you can be proud of producing Liberty - definitely show cat material...
Hello Larry and Jonni
I wanted to give you an update on Cowboy. He's vet appointment went great (he was a big big hit with the girls at the vet)
He's had all shots needed at this time and is doing good. Very active little fellow!
Thank you again for all the wonderful insight and information. I think we got a keeper for sure. We are all falling in love
with each other - Cowboy is just so dang cute!
thank you again
treeta (and robbie)
Larry & Jonni,
We wanted to send you an update on our girls. They have to be the most well adjusted cats either of us have ever had. Their temperment, personalities and behavior continue to surprise us every day. They have far exceeded our expectations. Both girls are amazing with our 2 year old, it's been such a blessing. And we could not be happier with our decision to get two kitties instead of one. They love playing together and still manage to be our constant snuggle buddies. We could not possibly be any happier with the new additions to our family. You can rest assured they are getting plenty of lovin' here. Thank you both so very much.
Brandi, Brian & Canon
P.S. We named the rosette kitty Zeppy & the marble is Gypsy. They already come to their names, it's awesome

Larry & Jonni,
We are so extremely happy with our Bengal. I feel like we not only have purchased a kitten from you but have made friends of two wonderful caring people. You have opened your home to us at a minutes notice so we could visit our kitten. Don't think a lot of people would invite strangers in and make them feel as welcome and take as much time with us as you did. I saw the nasty things said about you on the internet and I am appalled that someone could and would say such untrue things about you both. Your cats are so well cared for, healthy, smart and so darn cute. I would never purchase a cat from anyone but you both. As for the smoke in your home - did not experience it in any of my visits. Just another untruth! Larry and Jonni you are the best and I would feel comfortable about recommending anyone to purchase a Bengal from you. The sad part was when you watched me put him in the car to take him home, it looked like I had just adopted a child of yours. Guess I will have to take him for a visit from time to time.
Thank you for such a precious addition to our family. Keep up the good work bringing those wonderful kittens into the world for us to enjoy.

I ran across this complaint regarding Acappella Bengals, and felt I needed to challenge these claims. I have recently purchased the most amazing little Bengal kitten from Jonni and Larry's cattery, and could not be happier with my experience. I already have a grown Bengal, and decided to get him a playmate. I have visited, emailed, and spoke with many catteries during my search for my two Bengals, and felt most comfortable with Larry and Jonni. I made two trips to their place over the course of the process, and was thoroughly impressed with their set up. Very clean, all happy healthy kittens. Most kittens already had homes waiting for them from the time they were born. I have no idea the basis on which his complaint was posted, however I know first hand that his claims are 100% false. Thanks, Travis
Acappella Bengals is the best place you could ever get a Bengal cat I have gone to see their cats on regular basis. The kittens are as lively and healthy They are the most perfect cats ever. If you were to sit on the floor all the kittens would rush up to you. From my experience with Jonni and Larry I can say that these negtive reports seems false.
Acappella Bengals are the cats you want to check out if you want a bengal cat that will be a life time family member.
I don't know who this person is who is defaming, not only my Bengal breeder, but also people that I consider friends. I am completely appalled by this fabrication. I found Acappella Bengals after my Pixie Bob passed...she had been my constant companion for many years. When I was visiting with Jonni and Larry about the loss of Rocksye they cried with me. I visited their home - where their cats are raised and spent a lot of time with their kittens, retired queens, queens, and their sires. The cats were all loving and sweet - they were all over me.
I purchased a kitten and as per the contract had him checked out by my vets, yes, "vets", I use multiple vets. My vets all concurred that the kitten was in perfect health and continued his vaccinations and care. Not only that; Jonni and Larry provide a bill of sale, contract and medical records on all cats that leave their home and I say "home" because their cats are part of their home - they are not a cat mill; their cats are handled and loved as if they would stay in their home as their pets for the rest of their lives. My baby did develop FIP and pass. The FIP is ABSOLUTELY NOT the fault of the breeder. When I contacted Larry and Jonni they, again, cried with me. I did NOT request a replacement kitten, but because they are such good people with great business ethics they DID replace my kitten and pay all medical bills incurred during treatment of the other kitten. Not only that, I have since gone back to Larry and Jonni and purchased a retired queen. Every time that I have been in their home it is clean, the kenneling area is always clean and the kittens are running the house playing and having human interaction. I have even personally met with the vets that Jonni and Larry use for their cats' medical care and my vets have an open line of communication with their vets.
I send Larry and Jonni pictures of my beautiful, HEALTHY babies all the time and pictures of my Bengals are all over my office. The Bengals produced at Acappella Bengals are exceptional and everyone thinks they are gorgeous. My Hercules is 12.8 pounds and a very strong big boy and my Breeze is a gorgeous 9.8 pounds - my vets say they are the picture of health and stature.
Although I did lose a baby I would still return to Acappella Bengals and Jonni and Larry over and over if I were to get more Bengals.
Please stop your negative attacks on this Family...not only are you attacking Larry and Jonni, but all of the parents of the wonderful Bengals - like myself. I know that I am the only person who has ever lost a baby purchased from Larry and Jonni; I verified with their vet. They took exceptional care of me and my family; which was not warranted, but that is the kind of ethical people they are!
I have referred many people to Larry and Jonni's Acappella Bengals and I will continue to do so! It hurts me that anyone could make up so many mean and hateful things about such good people who run a very reputable and ethical business.
I am picking up my kitten from Acapella on Sunday. I visited the cattery over spring break and thought it was wonderful. I got to play with my kitten as well as his siblings who were all beautiful, playful, and a joy to be around. Larry showed us the cattery out back where the adults are kept. All of the cats are clean, very social, and well taken care of.
They didn't push me to buy a cat at all. In fact, Larry told me to take my time before deciding whether or not I could afford a kitten. The cats are priced a normal Bengal kitten price. Bengals aren't cheap anywhere.
I've gotten updated pictures of my kitten about once a week, and Larry and Jonni are some of the sweetest people out there. They were more than happy to have me come visit my kitten while I was in town.
The slander against them is awful, and if you look at any of their customer reviews, you'll see that what this person is saying is just not true.
People would not be returning to buy more kittens if they weren't ecstatic with the first one they received.
I chose Acapella Bengals after a very long search for a breeder and it was the best decision I could have made.
We would like to further discredit Mr. *****from ******. When our 7 year old bengal Bob died in early February 2012, we immediately started searching for a new bengal kitten. My girlfriend phoned numerous Bengal breeders including ****** and Acappella. Mr. ***** was very concerned asking where we had purchased Bob etc. He made sure to let her know that the breeder we purchased him from was famous for selling sick cats etc. telling her that the breeder was hiding out from the law etc. He asked who else she had been in contact with, and at that point we had not contacted Larry & Jonni. Numerous other breeders were then contacted including Acappella. I phoned ***** on a Sunday morning about 10:30am and had never spoken to a more rude person in all my life telling me that he was sleeping and he would call me when he woke up. No phone call was ever returned to me, and frankly with that type of attitude I really didn't care if he called or dropped off the face of the earth. We were welcomed by Larry & Jonni to visit at any time we chose to see their cattery, but at the time they didn't have any rosetted bengals available but had some marbled ones. We were not interested in marbles. They told us they had two females due within the next couple weeks, and they had 3 people on a waiting list. When the first litter of kittens were born, they contacted us to tell us that they had 5 kittens with rosettes and we decided to visit the following weekend. they were very encouraging and a pleasure to meet and talk to about their cats. It just so happened that their second female decided to start having her litter the day we arrived. They were more than willing to let us enter the delivery room where both mothers were with their kittens, as long as we were very quiet and didn't disturb the female who was birthing her litter. Needless to say we decided to purchase our Little Bob from them and picked him up on April 14. 2012. He is the sweetest and funniest kitten that I have owned. Mr. **** is obviously jealous that Acappella Bengals has surpassed them in quality and customer satisfaction, so he is using whatever means he can to try to slander their business and using personal issues that have no bearing on breeding cats to try and discredit them. I WOULD NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS BUY FROM ******! HE TRY'S TO SELL BY CUTTING DOWN HIS COMPETITION WITH LIES AND OBVIOUSLY HAS A PERSONAL VENDETTA AGAINST THE DOEPPENSCHMIDT'S @ ACAPPELLA BENGALS. We have received numerous e-mails from Larry & Jonni just checking up on our little man, and we will continue to update them with our progress. Your real grudge is that he is a competitor with quality cats and takes the time to speak with potential owners who call to find a new cat. Joe Wylie, Katy TX
My name is David Long and I have no complaints about Acappella Bengals. I'm not sure how Mr. Clark got his information, but from my experience, the Doeppenschmidt's were great. Their home was clean and did not have any foul odor even with the two litter boxes. Anyone who has a cat with one litter box knows if you do not clean it everyday, you will have an odor in your home. There was absolutely no odor in their home at all. If you did not see the cats, you wouldn't know they had any. They were very thorough about who receives one of their kittens. They want to make sure all of their kittens go to a good home.I brought my new kitten to my vet the day after I got home with her. My vet said she was of the most healthy kittens he has seen. I did NOT see anything sickly about any of their cats. Unfortunately, when you have such a good, caring cattery, there is always someone who wants to disrupt it. As far as Mr. Larry being a retired truck driver, what the hell, how does Mr. Clark think any and all of the products he purchases get to the store? Truck drivers are and have always been the back bone of this country. Just because someone has a cold beer in the afternoon does not mean you have a drinking problem. Whether or not Mr. Larry smokes, I could not tell you. I was there for 3 and a half hours the night before I picked my kitten up and I did not see him smoke one time. Either he does not smoke or he has enough respect for other people not to do it in front them. I drove 520 miles to get my Bengal, and IT WAS WORTH EVERY MILE. I plan on purchasing another by the end of the year, and it WILL be from ACAPPELLA BENGALS. Just remember, if a cattery makes a complaint about another cattery, its probably not true. David and Karen Long, Krotz Springs Louisiana
This is a rebuttal to *****, who owns a competing Bengal cattery in New Braunfels, where Acappella Bengals is also located. Which explains his ridiculous attempt to discredit Acappella Bengals. You know, ****, you can be sued for libel. You might want to think about that. Exactly what have you discovered that makes you think Acappella Bengals is a "kitten mill"? Have you researched the cattery? Have you taken pictures? It seems from your description that you have a problem with Mr. Doppenschmidt's smoking and drinking, not necessarily his cats. Sounds like a personal problem to me, pal. And since you're running a competing cattery, it's not surprising that you're trying to ruin his business to build up your own. You also claim his kittens are "sick". I beg to differ. We purchased a beautiful, well-socialized, healthy female kitten from Larry and Jonni in 2010, and she's grown into an amazing cat. We've had NO problems with her--she's a precious addition to our family and Larry and Jonni took every step they could to make sure we were serious, caring, safe buyers. So-- where's your proof? You sound like a bunch of sour grapes to me, dude. You can be sure my husband and I won't be visiting YOUR cattery any time soon, because obviously you have no class. Nope, we'll be going back to Acappella, thankyouverymuch. Kat and Dave Foster, Katy, Texas.
I bought my first cat from Larry & Jonni at Acappella Bengals, New Braunfels, Texas. Excellent cat, excellent temperment. Clean cattery you would never know a cat lived in their home. The place was well organized and I just showed up. They didn't even know that I was coming over to check them out. I was so impressed. I am so impressed! Great people! A small cattery with only a few females who breed. I'd buy another cat from them in a minute...and I will happily refer any one to them. These people are great, great, great. I drove over 4 hours to see their cattery.
